About me

I was born in New York, New York but raised in Harrisonburg, VA. I hold an Associate of Applied Science in Information Systems Technology with a specialization in Cybersecurity from Blue Ridge Community College. I am currently a Junior at Old Dominion University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity and a minor in Criminal Justice.

Experience

During my time at Blue Ridge Community College I was able to do my internship as an IT Support Specialist Assistant at the college, from May to July 2024, I gained practical experience in IT support. I was responsible for decommissioning outdated desktops, installing new hardware, and managing cables. I also learned about computer imaging, which involved installing operating systems, applications, and configurations on new devices. Additionally, I configured BIOS settings on new computers to meet the college’s specifications, facilitating deployment of system images via the DHCP server. This hands-on experience has deepened my understanding of basic IT support.

National Cyber League (NCL)

During my participation in the National Cyber League (NCL) from October to December 2023, I engaged in hands-on cybersecurity challenges that enhanced my practical skills. The NCL provided a virtual, learning-centered environment where I tackled real-world scenarios in areas such as cryptography, network traffic analysis, and penetration testing. This improved my problem-solving abilities in a competitive and educational setting. I developed a deeper understanding of cybersecurity concepts and prepared myself for a career in the field.
