Journal Entry 2

In cybersecurity, scientific principles are essential since they provide professionals with a way to solve problems and analyze them efficiently. Empiricism focuses on evidence-based methods throughtesting defenses of any particular system and finding out the perils through evidence. Determinism has shown that certain events arepredictable; once the trends have been spotted, it aids the experts in predicting potential attacks. Parsimony advocates simplicity in security solutions and system design. This reduces the chances of human error and confusion. Objectivity means decisions are not based on prejudgments or belief systems but are fact-based. All these together give a firm base for the building of cybersecurity plans and help the expert to elaborate on reliable solutions, refining his methodology in view of the practical outcome.
