My academic goal is to strengthen my engineering foundation while continuing to apply technical problem-solving skills in aerospace manufacturing quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My coursework supports my long-term professional goals by building knowledge in engineering principles, manufacturing processes, technical analysis, and applied problem-solving. Because I already work in aerospace quality engineering, I am able to connect classroom concepts directly to real manufacturing, inspection, and customer requirement challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Academic Focus<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>My educational focus is centered on the connection between engineering design, manufacturing execution, and quality assurance. I am especially interested in how technical requirements move from drawings and specifications into production, inspection, verification, and customer acceptance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Mechanical systems and manufacturing processes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engineering drawings and technical requirements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Materials, inspection, and product verification<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Process improvement and root cause analysis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Aerospace manufacturing quality<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Data-based decision making<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cross-functional engineering communication<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why Mechanical Engineering Technology<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>I chose Mechanical Engineering Technology because it aligns closely with the type of work I enjoy most: solving technical problems in a real manufacturing environment. My professional experience has shown me that strong engineering decisions require both technical understanding and practical awareness of how parts are actually built, inspected, and delivered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This degree will help me continue developing the engineering knowledge needed to support safer, clearer, and more effective manufacturing systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Connection to My Professional Work<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>My education directly supports my work in aerospace quality engineering. In my current role, I frequently review technical requirements, support First Article Inspection Reports, investigate nonconformances, communicate with customers and suppliers, and help improve internal processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ODU\u2019s Mechanical Engineering Technology program gives me the opportunity to build the academic foundation behind the work I already perform every day. It also allows me to grow from applying requirements to understanding more deeply how engineering decisions are made, validated, and improved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Continuing Development<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to my degree program, I continue to develop professionally through quality, inspection, customer requirement, and process improvement training.
