Learning Style

My current method of studying is slightly below where I wanted it to be for work college gives me. I easily get distracted and I also procrastinate very badly. I set aside certain days and times to study and do all my homework for the week. In class I take color coded notes and I listen to the professor. Outside of class I rewatch the recorded lectures to make sure I got all the important information written down in my notes. I am doing very well in my intro to sociology class because I ask my classmates questions, I read the textbook, and I recharge the homework assignment I did.

English is the class I am struggling class the most. I started a little study group with some girls in my class. We are going to meet once every week. I plan on sitting down and studying twice a week for an hour and a half. I should spend more time trying to perfect on finding articles to write about. I need to spend less time on stressing if my essays sound bad or not. I write down all my studying times and class times in my planner and on the dry erase calendar on my wall. Honestly, I am not taking advantage of the learning support around me. I do struggle with being motivated to study, which is the reason I procrastinate. I remember I take this course because I need the credits so I can graduate on time. I clarified on how I need to write this essay I have due soon. I am still confused on if the articles I find are the right type of articles I should be writing about. I have not done any exam preparations. I also do not know how to prepare for an English exam. I am sure my English exam will not have multiple choice questions.

One technique I could start using in class is start using the Five R’s of note taking, so my notes could help me understand the materials and how to find my work and how my work should be written. The technique I will use outside of class to study is overcoming my procrastination. Which will help me finish my work in am timely manner.
