Hi my name is Alston Gumbs. I’m originally from St Thomas, USVI but I attended high school in Virginia and have lived here for several years on and off. I’m a Navy veteran and recently moved back to Virginia from California to be closer to home. I transferred to ODU to continue my pursuit of an electrical engineering degree. I worked as an avionics technician while in the Navy and it piqued my interest in science. I’m a huge basketball fan and love to play, watch, and talk about the game. I’m excited about the variety of employment opportunities that electrical engineering will allow me to experience and I look forward to making use of my past experiences along with the new things I’m learning here at ODU.
