Engineers Are Key Players in Safe Cyber Networks.

Engineers are a key player in making cyber networks safer and keep companies security systems running. To do so they may have to implement and test new security features, plan computer and network upgrades, troubleshoot, and respond to security incidents. Whatever it may be these are all functions of an engineer or System Engineer to make a cyber network safer.

System engineers are responsible for the establishment of a trustworthy and secure system, no matter what the component’s purpose may be. To make each on of the components trustworthy there may be several details and attributes required to make that happen such as safety, security, reliability, dependability, performance, resilience, and survivability. However, the Cybersecurity primary focus is on the security of the system to make it more trustworthy and less vulnerable to attacks. While we wish that there was absolutely no way to be attacked, there were no threats, or hazards to cause destruction to a system, unfortunately there is no way to design a 100 percent perfect or safe system, at this time. However, System Engineers, are capable of mitigating vulnerabilities by providing more penetration resistance, and a set of well-thought-out security design principles, a list of concepts, and necessary techniques to create a network that is considered safe or trustworthy. System Security Engineers primary responsibilities are to ensure that security requirements, design, testing, and risk management are implemented to provide a trustworthy system to clients or stakeholders. To provide a trustworthy system they have to first know what the problem is and how to solve it. In addition, a list of all assets, data and any other stakeholder’s concerns would need to be considered and implemented. All of the security design principle must be evaluated for its relevance, applicability, and validity for each individual system component and for the overall composite system.
