After reading this article I understand that the need for the importance of social

cybersecurity as it is quoted in the article “an emerging scientific area focused on the

science to characterize, understand, and forecast cyber-mediated changes in human

behavior, social, cultural, and political outcomes, and to build the cyber-infrastructure

needed for society to persist in its essential character in a cyber-mediated information

environment under changing conditions, actual or imminent social cyber-threats.” As

information manipulation is becoming a common tactic in warfare by weakening the

enemy’s society will gain advantage. The article also talks about how Russia exploits

social media and spread disinformation. It’s because of the rise of the internet of social

media that makes it easy manipulate the public by spreading information. This article

just proves how important social cybersecurity is and how it requires policy development

and further education.
