A security engineer basically helps all kinds of business by looking and protecting the computer and its networking system from all kinds of hacks or attacks. They watch the sensitive data a business has and protects it from hackers who are usually always try and create new ways to get into the important databases. They pay very close attention to details and solve problems very very well in order to keep all data private. They are important as well because they usually respond to all system and/or network security breaches. They are the ones who make sure there is absolutely no way anyone can get into the system because they know that they are protecting sensitive data. They patrol and make sure that there are no easy access points and keep the systems updated regularly so that the systems do not fall behind or become slow and become easy to access. They are basically cops in the cyber world.

The overlap between criminal justice and cybercrime is that both deal with it-it being crime. Criminal justice is all about prevent crimes and if they are caught then finding out the best punishment for the crime while cybercrime is all about crime on a digital platform. Now there are laws even go into cyber because of how crazy that the cybercrime is getting. I do not think that the criminal justice system is up to date with cybercrime just because of how fast it moves but there is definitely an overlap because one usually has to take care of the other. This deals with disciplines we discussed in class because this class is cyber based and deals with people and information which is tying to be protected from cyber threats every day. Criminal justice is trying to prevent those threats as well and bring a policy or rules to the cyber world that can help us so we are all doing the same thing.
