I am interested in cyber-security for a numerous amount of reasons. The main reason would have to be the fact that it will probably never slow down which means work can never go out. That is good because a lot of jobs tend to become slow and boring but technology will never be figured out completely meaning that work will always be filled with opportunities and learning. The second reason I chose cyber is because of its flexibility and pay. I have heard of individuals being able to work from home and even while they are out on vacation as long as they have their laptop they are fine. I have also heard of people getting paid a bunch of money after a year or two of having the right certs and even more money when doing travel work. Travelling is also something that I want to do and for me to be able to get paid while doing it sounded very good to me.

Sociology is the first major that relates to cyber-security. I never knew that until this year with this class I am taking but the study of people and people in general goes a long way in this field. It is good to know why people do certain things for a better understanding of problems that could happen. The next major is programming, this relates because it is very important to know how to use and understand certain systems when trying to get into the field. Math is important as well and connects to cyber depending on the path an individual takes in the field. There are a lot of one’s and zero’s when it comes to knowing and reading stuff in the field so knowing how to read that information is important. Lastly, an analyst is the last major that relates to cyber mainly because it is a very big part of the field. Reading and being able to find errors is huge in cyber. A lot of people have analyst roles when getting into the field.
