Mid-Semester Reflection

Normally in high school I did not study a lot and that really has not changed, I really only study for chem and soc because those classes give more info in an hour and any of my other classes and I cannot grasp it all at one time.I do not think I need to study more than I already do because right now i study for 2 to 3 and ½ hours.I usually study in my room when my roommate is gone, that’s when it’s best for me because it is quiet.I do get distracted when it’s too quiet, so ill turn on music to keep me determined and focused. I also study either very early or very late just because that’s when i’m usually settling down chilling.I am also not doing anything so I am very focused at those times.

I believe that flash card method works great for me because I can study and then quiz myself by adding the answer to the other side.The flashcard method is the only one I have used since being at odu. It is also the first one I have ever used.

College has been everything I have and have not expected. Some things to be specific is like the parties, they are actually pretty chill and not as crazy as people made them seem. Another thing is like how the teachers are, I usually hear that they are harsh and don’t really care about the students but they actually do… well my teachers do. They remind me of things, help me out when I don’t understand, and try to make things as easy as possible. Some surprises I have gotten are the teachers actually! They are not close to what my high school teachers made you all seem.Living on campus has really been all I have been waiting for, I wanted to be on my own and get live my own life.. I wanted to struggle and succeed on my own. 

One problem early has been getting used to studying because like I said before in high school I did not study at all, so studying for hours is something to get used too. But the flash card method has been great for me.I have not met anyone who has really been helping me personally with my work because I have been doing good so far.No I have not joined and interest meeting because I have not been looking for anything, I am here to get what I need to be successful and get out!
