CYSE 201s
Social Cybersecurity Journal 10
Social cybersecurity is an upcoming category of cybersecurity associated with the study of social factors and human behaviors and how these two categories will function in the cyberspace. National Security is the main concern between the two factors (human behavior & social influence). Social cybersecurity poses a threat for cyber warfare, because as information is passed around internationally, cultures become divided, trusts become weakened, and organizations become broken. Focusing on social cybersecurity, we have learned how online interactions can be operated by enemies to obstruct and influence public opinion, spread misinformation, and cause civil unrest in a society. The need for strategies to protect our society against these threats are highly emphasized. Educating the public on technology usage, developing high quality detection methods, and promoting better cybersecurity awareness is highly encouraged to withstand a resilient society.
