After reading “11 Illegal Things You Unknowingly Do on the Internet” by Andriy Slynchuk, I have noted that the five most serious violations and offenses are: using illegal streaming services, faking your identity online, bullying, using copyrighted images, and using torrent services. Using illegal streaming services is a violation that definitely stuck out to me like a sore thumb, though it is most definitely something I do, I still do understand it is a serious offense due to obvious copyright laws. Torrent services are similar to illegal streaming services having creators lose money while also violating numerous copyright laws. While still on the topic of copyright, copyrighted images also discredit creators and require permission of use. Bullying online is a serious offense because it can cause severe harm to the victim. Faking an identity online is very serious because you are violating identity theft laws and is considered fraud which is in itself already considered a very serious offense.
