A cybersecurity analyst typically monitors an organization’s network, responds to various incidents such as: phishing, spam, vulnerabilities etc. Cybersecurity analysts usually serve as the first line of technological defense for an organization. Working and collaborating with other humans is a critical part of cybersecurity. Analysts are also responsible for educating users on the best practices for online behavior to prevent data breaches within an organization. Networking is also a crucial role in cybersecurity. It is important to build connections in the tech industry because overtime analysts can become overwhelmed and its good practice to share ideas and solutions with other experts. The best paying cybersecurity jobs are usually located in big cities where a lot of organizations are based and located so it’s best to get acclimated to the city living and lifestyle which simply means you’ll have to interact with a lot of people. Getting into cybersecurity isn’t all about handling a computer; you are required to use your “people skills”.
