1. Overview and Need: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Cleat heat is a cleat designing venture I\u2019ve been working on and planning to go all the way in on. This venture idea is a business that will be customizing and designing cleats and selling cleats that are new and retro. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 This business idea addresses the need for fashion and creative design in sports. With the growth of social media and creativity this idea allows for people to express themselves and show their creativity. Cleat designing already exists but it’s an on-demand and remote thing right now meaning you will have to do some research to find someone who does the skill. This is where I see an opening because I want to open a physical business in a central location with and work with several other artists so it can be a thing where people can come in and buy cleats or design them rather than having to go through obstacles just to find someone with the skill. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 2. Evaluation of Potential: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 I like the potential of this idea because if set up correctly with positive branding, and a central location then the business will perform well easily. The exact demand for custom cleats is not easily measured but from what I know and have seen it is always something that interests and excites people. I also like the potential of this idea because I plan to set it up in my hometown which is the DMV metropolitan area and this area has a lot of traffic and customer potential. The DMV metro area is home to about at least four professional teams of sports where cleats are needed, Washington Commanders, Washington Nationals, DC Defenders, and DC United etc. Attracting the professional players is the main goal but there are also several college teams and thousands of high school teams in the area. In this day and age of social media and being able to closely monitor someone\u2019s life it is very evident that in youth sports and collegiate sports, athletes strive to be and look up to the professionals. With people seeing their favorite pros wearing custom cleats, even if the design isn\u2019t from my business, it will bring me customers because they now have the resource to be able to do something that was scarce before. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 This business can be challenging because it is kind of a rare skill so it will be difficult trying to find people with the skill. Another challenge with this venture is efficiency, art and designing takes time and when you rush you get poor results so I will have to find a way for the business to be efficient and operate in a timely manner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 3. Discovery Process: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 I discovered this idea through my passion and love for shoes. I already design and work on shoes in my free time so I started experimenting with cleats so I thought to myself why not turn this into a business especially since it’s a rare skill. I started designing cleats for my friends and knew this was something I could go all in on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Property Management <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n 1. Overview and Need: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Another business idea I had was creating a property management business. In this business I will primarily like to work with Air BnB owners and other property rental services. The goal is to create a company that will handle the needs of the property owners under one business. Most Air BnB owners or other property rental services are remote, aren\u2019t present in the area when guests arrive, or sometimes are even international so for this reason they have to make several arrangements or travel frequently to visit their properties. I want to create a business that will handle the needs such as cleaning, repairs, guest services etc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 This idea addresses the need for uncertainty. Since most property owners are remote they can only make arrangements with local businesses such as cleaning companies, maintenance workers\/ repair men, rely on neighbors etc and sometimes this method is uncertain because it has little guarantee. Having a reputable company that settles all these needs addresses the uncertainty. I also wanted to turn this into an international thing so that way for those who have properties in different countries it will be easier for them to do business with us rather than trying to make their arrangements and pay about three different people when one company can handle all their needs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 2. Evaluation of Potential: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Property management is something of high demand but the difference maker here is having a consistent reputable company that will be able to manage your property globally. With many hosts struggling with inconsistent service and coordination from multiple vendors, having an all in one reliable company can provide many opportunities and be very profitable. I will be able to expand the business through local partnerships or through a franchise network. The business will be profitable because it combines various services under one business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 This venture is challenging because it is hard to start up and building it up to the point that I am imagining is very difficult. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 3. Discovery Process: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 I discovered this idea when I was traveling recently. I was in Puerto Rico and I stayed at an Air BnB and we faced a couple of issues with the house. Our host didn\u2019t live in the area in which the rental property was located so everytime we had an issue he had to drive about an hour to get to the property and one of the days he told us he wasn\u2019t going to able make the trip because he just left the area of the rental property and wasn\u2019t planning on coming back. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Comparative Analysis <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n 1. Analysis: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Overall, the property management venture idea would be the most profitable because the demand for short-term rental properties are very high. Being an all-in-one international business that is reliable brings endless potential and will increase profit. The business offers consistent recurring revenue but its startup costs are very expensive and it will take plenty of work and time to grow the company. On the other hand, \u2018Cleat Heat\u2019 has a lot of potential because it is an untapped market. It will be one of if not the first physical location in the DMV area where customers can design their cleats and show their creativity. Cleat Heat probably won\u2019t be as big as the property management venture because it will more than likely just be a local store that serves as a community staple. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 2. Idea with the Most Potential: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 I like the Cleat Heat idea the best and think it has the most potential because it is a niche startup and has very little to no competition. The startup costs aren\u2019t as expensive as the property management venture, and I am fine with the business just being a community staple at the very least because that is what I had in mind.
