CRISPR Gene Editing is a technology that is still in its infancy. Because of this, it is not one hundred percent successful when it is used. If it works the way it is intended to, many diseases could be eradicated. However, to get it to that point requires potentially fatal testing on humans. Additionally, the potential costs of getting this done as a consumer would be high. In turn, this would create a divide between those who could afford it and those who could not. Given how life-altering Gene editing could be, that is not a good thing. As is all technology in this field, it is understandable why it is a controversial subject. It is a technology that could save lives but requires the potential loss of life during its earlier stages. If the answer to whether or not CRISPR Gene Editing is worth the risks that come with its implementation was an easy one to answer, it would not be so actively discussed.
