Meme Video
The video consists of five different clips related to biology (FOURTH CLIP INCLUDES PROFANITY). The reason why I chose this video is because while I was browsing looking for videos, this one stood out to me as it includes modern day memes integrated with biology knowledge. Though the first clip was not necessarily something we learned through the semester, the rest of the clips included a topic which we brushed on. The second clip is about how ribosomes are not considered organelles due to them not having a surrounding membrane. An example of an organelle would be the nucleus. The third clip consists of RNA translation and the woman describes exactly how I felt when I initially started transcribing DNA to RNA. My expression is still the same when I forget that 5’ to 3’ DNA to 5’ to 3’ RNA must be transcribed in reverse which I usually forget. Touching my elbows with my hands will help me remember in the future. For the fourth clip, we learned about how the plasma membrane looks like, so the clip shows how competitive inhibitor inhibiting the substrate from binding to the plasma membrane. The last clip is my favorite, as it shows how if cyanide, metformin, or oligomycin were to enter your mitochondria, your ATP levels would DROP due to them stopping ATP synthase.
