The US, China, Brazil, Germany, and India make up the top five countries according to the Symantec ranking. The negative effects of several cybercrimes are highly publicized in numerous papers. Spam emails are a frequent attack method for several kinds of cybercrime. 72% of all emails sent globally now are spam. Spam makes up much over 50% of all internet traffic in general. Spam has disruptive effects on human resources. China, Brazil, the US, and Russia are a few of the top nations that send spam. There are three typical types of online fraud, which are most frequently committed through email spam. The first is phishing, which is when an attacker uses deception to try and get a victim’s “credential goods.” Any knowledge a person may possess that may be exchanged for money, such as credit card numbers, login information for online banking, or passwords for social network accounts, is known as a credential good. Usually, the phisher would direct the victim to a website that closely resembles one of their trusted sources, like a bank, and ask them to fill out a web form in order to obtain the desired credentials.

Most of all phishing volumes worldwide are directed at the United States. However, companies are frequently targeted, which, if successful, results in a loss of thousands of dollars. China, Russia, Ukraine, the United States, and Brazil are a few of the countries that are the main suppliers of phishing assaults. ‘Advance fee’ fraud schemes, usually referred to as 419 scams, are the second type of online fraud. A confidence trick called advance fee fraud involves the fraudster contacting the victim via spam email and making a proposition. The United States, South Africa, Ghana, and Nigeria are among countries that are known to be major sources of advance fee scam schemes. Ransomware-related scams, which tend to be more targeted than either phishing or advance fee fraud, would be considered the third type of online fraud. The crime is only committed after the victim’s computer has been infected by malware, which then looks for files on the victim’s computer that are significant to them and encrypts them so that the victim cannot access them without the decryption key. The United States, China, Russia, and the Ukraine are a few of the top nations for piracy.
