If you did not know cybersecurity threats exist in all countries, also cybersecurity risks are a possibility a business will suffer a loss from a cyberattack or data breach. The attacks on businesses and infrastructure often target the United States but since a large portion of the world does not agree with United States, we have become a tempting target. In the US, attacks involving phishing are extremely common. Many American companies continue to expand and many of them have their systems online. I chose Mexico but as you don’t know but Mexico rose to the top of the Latin American attack charts. Although there isn’t a single cybersecurity law in Mexico, there are several different cybersecurity-related regulations found in various sectorial laws. These dangers are widespread, and similar issues are affecting numerous other nations but as you don’t know, Mexico and the U.S has a lot of similarities risks in cybersecurity. The first one is ransomware threats, and this means these attacks using ransomware have affected several industries including important facilities, companies, and government organizations in both nations. Another one is the supply chain, Global supply chains are interconnected and put risks to both countries. The supply chain attacks can cause disruptions and financial losses in many different industries. Both nations face threats to critical infrastructure categories like energy, transportation, and healthcare. Attacks on each sector may negatively impact public safety and national security. There are also nation-state risks which include the countries of the world that engage in cyber espionage, influence campaigns, and disruptive activities which can put a cybersecurity threat to both the United States and Mexico. Another risk they have in common deals with financial, Cybercriminals looking to make money through a wide range of means, such as attacks on banks and payment systems, have their sights set on both countries’ financial sectors.
