Cybersecurity risks is very important in America and in Japan as they are both big economies which makes them big hubs for cyberattacks. In Japan they face many cyber risks as they have major businesses and technologies that are constantly growing to date. Similarly, America has the same problems as both countries are prone to more cyberattacks as they have more to offer for attackers than other countries. A big problem that Japan faces is ransomware attacks which are cyberattacks that occur when an attacker takes important information and denies access to it and holds it ransom till its paid and given back. This shows how lucrative it is for attackers to find access to Japan’s information and give them good incentive to control and put it up for ransom. The same can be said for America in regard to ransomware which in turn America has changed and adapted so that many programs were started to reduce the threats of said attack and created many programs to prevent it from happening before it happens. Unlike America where the main threats happen at home in Japan the attacks are most likely to happen away from home. Japan has many subsidiary companies overseas that are more prone to attacks as they are easier way into Japanese networks. As said before America finds more threats at home attacking places where it would be easier to make money from like solar companies and the government. These places would be guaranteed money if attackers gained access and ransomed from those places as they are important infrastructures. Unlike America Japan has to deal with attacks from countries surrounding like North Korea, China, and other surrounding countries all showing cases of cyberattacking Japan’s industries in some way. Japan as a way to combat that has made deals with America using their programs to better protect their data.
