What I Learned

This exercise made me realize how much our relationships and surroundings affect the decisions we make. Set It Off demonstrates that desperation, misery, and the breakdown of systems meant to safeguard us are frequently the causes of crime rather than malice.

The realization that each of these ladies had potential, aspirations, and expectations that were dashed by discrimination, unfairness, and plain poor luck struck me as the most devastating blow. It got me to thinking about how society is so ready to judge without ever really comprehending the difficulties and trials that someone may be going through.

As I anticipate a career in cybersecurity, this initiative served as a reminder that people are at the center of everything. Every criminal act or data breach is frequently the result of someone who is suffering from injustice or extreme strain. It helped me realize that when it comes to resolving these problems, the human element is equally as crucial as the technological one.

I learned in this lesson that justice is about empathy, fairness, and giving people second chances, not simply about punishing them. Maybe fewer people would believe that crime is their only option if society made more of an attempt to help them from the beginning.
