Through this project I learned that criminal behavior comes from people reacting against a broken system which that already let them down. The movie Set It Off showed me how each female character encountered different personal and financial difficulties. It demonstrated that poverty combined with discrimination and lack of opportunities can force people to view criminal activity as their only escape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through Social Disorganization and Social Learning theories I gained the ability to study their actions while understanding their motivs. The theories enabled me to recognize that your environment together with your relationships can determine someone\u2019s life direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The insights from this reflection apply to actual life situations. My current studies in cybersecurity benefit from this knowledge because it enables me to analyze human actions and fairness of justice systems.
