I struggled so hard to come up with a persona for this assignment. Besides the issue of locking myself out of my own Instagram for this assignment, anyone who knows me knows my lack of athleticism. And after the Super Bowl, I have not kept up with too many sports. I tried thinking outside the box and decided to rate my seats. I have gone to a plethora of Old Dominion University games, specifically football, basketball, and soccer. And I know the interest of someone who has never gone to a game before, that may not know the best areas to sit. Even from personal experience, taking family or friends that have never gone, the pressure is on to find the best seat in the house. Everyone has different needs and wants when picking a seat at a sporting event. Thus the creation of odustadiumseatrates. Each post has highlighted the location, my best attempt at laying out the exact spot I was sitting, a rating out of ten, and a brief description as to why I believe it is the best, worst, or just okay area.
I settled on Instagram as most ODU students probably use this social media the most to gather information and the format worked best for what I wanted to accomplish. I also know over the last year, there has been a plethora of ODU student ran accounts like @odusleepz, @odusinks, and @confessodu, that have become extremely popular. I made sure to keep it anonymous and somewhat silly. I liked the idea of the post being serious in my ratings because it is just random to rate a seat at a stadium, where students do not have many choices or options to select a seat, unlike other sports events.
Now because I have impeccable luck, outside of being locked out from the account, nothing is embedding from Instagram. So each post is a picture taken from the account, but the link is posted above to the full page and each picture will have a link that directly takes you to the post. I had to try my hardest when thinking of a way to describe the seating. Each stadium has a specific student section, but the seats do not have a number attached, so the seating section is solely my best attempt to describe it. But the pictures of each are a great visual cue of where I am, which is good cause people are visual learners and I used Instagram for that reason.

Every photo on the page, except the first post regarding the soccer field; since I could not find a better photo outlining where I was sitting and where I was, is from my own personal photo library. The photos are mostly from the 2022-2023 school year, but I may have a few from previous semesters. I also made sure to pick my best pictures and ones that made the games look exciting or busy, cause this is also free marketing for ODU, so I have to make it the best.
I also attempted to make some posts outlandish. I like this one as it is from the Virginia Tech opening game and it is now tradition to storm the field when we win these games. But realistically, you will rarely be on the field unless needed.

This is another one of my favorite posts with my attempt to be comical. Overall, once I had my idea, I had a lot of fun with this assignment. Maybe I will continue to post on it just for the fun of it, I have tons of pictures from different areas in each stadium and it could actually be helpful. When doing this, I was thinking of the concerts at Chartway, so if anyone is looking for a good seat at a concert or the best area to watch a mediocre-at-best ODU game, they know exactly where to look!
