For our final project together, John and I were tasked with developing a \u201cquest\u201d surrounding his team or himself. To be honest, we were both stumped on what we could do for the Tides or within his career. His days as the director of communication are fairly busy and accomplish a variety of tasks in one day to minimize it to one concept. After viewing their social media pages, I noticed this year marked thirty years in the stadium the Tides play in. However, there are no current plans to honor this milestone and that is something I would want to focus on for the Tides. Which is where we created the 30th birthday bash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fortunately, John was working on the Norfolk Tides media day when the quest was assigned, so we were able to apply some of the ideas from the media day to the 30th birthday bash. For starters, this event would be promoted through social media and their website. In addition to a press release to send to local news and media representatives. Most importantly, informing our fans, specifically season ticket holders of the event and the vital information about it. Tickets would be $3 and the celebration would commence on the 30th of September, which would mark the official end of the season for the Tides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day would consist of players signing autographs, photos, and a celebration with the fans. In addition to DJ Canrock, who has hosted pregame events beginning this season for the Tides, providing music during the duration of the day. We would have limited edition merchandise designs for the celebration, with an additional 30% off sale. Families would have the opportunity to picnic on the field and have a free slice of cake. We could sing happy birthday and have the evening end with a firework display. Additionally, the birthday bash would offer giveaways and games for fans to have the chance to win prizes and show off their competitiveness. <\/p>\n\n\n

Some of the comments on the Instagram post highlight the 30th anniversary requested old merch come back. This is a design from 2001 that could be considered<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n

Media representatives would be present to document the festivities and broadcast the information in articles and on the news. To me, this is a major milestone that deserves to be acknowledged and celebrated, with food, fun, and fireworks. This could be something done every ten years to celebrate the anniversary, with each year getting bigger and better.<\/p>\n\n\n
