Experience

I have over five years of experience in victim advocacy for both adults and children. Over the last four years, I’ve taken my passion for truth and support a step further by working as a Private Investigator, aiming to make the lives of victims a little easier. I have experience in insurance and domestic cases that honed my writing and investigative skills, but my commitment to community has not wavered. I also offer pro bono services to victims of physical/cyber stalking/harassment, striving to create a safer environment for our physical and online communities.

Throughout my experience as a victim’s advocate and private investigator, I’ve encountered a growing demand for help in cybercrimes. Recognizing the importance of furthering technical education, I am currently completing a Cyber Crimes Degree and Digital Forensics Certificate at ODU, with an expected completion date in August of 2024.

I was hired in May of 2024 at the Virginia Department of Forensic Science as a Forensic Laboratory Specialist III in the Digital and Multimedia Evidence Section, which doubled as my required internship. I assist Forensic Scientists in the research, handling, documentation, preservation, and acquisition of diverse digital and multimedia evidence submitted by law enforcement agencies. I use “state of the art” knowledge of methodologies, techniques, and instrumentation related to the examination of electronic information stored on a variety of computer/mobile/video/image devices and data storage media. I also assist with support functions such as communicating with user agencies, management of consumables inventory, and quality control of critical equipment.
