I have been taking Spanish courses since I was in 7th grade and I’ve taken 3 Spanish classes in college. I was also in a Spanish club in high school. I have had a lot of experience and great memories from taking Spanish throughout the years, from field trips I was able to go on and activities I have participated in. It is a very important skill to learn new languages, so I am glad I have gotten the experience to be able to learn and explore new cultures. I will always cherish the knowledge that I have gotten from the language. It was also very challenging to keep up with the assignments from time to time, but I was able to get through it all. Spanish 201 is the last Spanish course I will take and I have learned a lot in this class, therefore I am happy to leave knowing more than I did when I started in middle school. Even though I will no longer be taking Spanish, hopefully, I will continue to be able to learn more about the language in the future.
Presentational Writing
For the compositions, we were given a couple of topics to choose from, and I would choose the topic that I believe I would do a better job at writing. We would prepare by doing an outline just to get an idea of keywords, phrases, and ideas to include in the rough draft. After we correct our mistakes we submit the final draft.

Interpersonal Communication
For the talk abroad I had a good time talking to a native Spanish speaker from another country and learning about them and their interests. I think it was a really good opportunity to embrace the knowledge that we already have for the language.

For this assignment I would have to listen to the things the speaker said and had to determine if the sentences were logical or illogical. I would have to listen to it a couple of times to get it.
I think that listening is one of my biggest obstacles in the course. We have had to watch videos throughout the semester as homework and answer questions about it after. Sometimes the people in the videos talk really fast and it can be difficult to pick up what is exactly being said. I think that it kind of forces you to really listen.

Reading Comprehension
For this assignment we had to read and answer some follow up questions afterwards. This assignment was not that difficult for me because all of the answers were pretty easy to find. It was a small reading so being able to go back and find the information needed to answer the questions were pretty easy.
Exploring Cultures
I think to learn a new language it is important to learn about the different cultures and celebrations that the people of the language celebrate. I chose to use a video of Cinco De Mayo in my Eportfolio just because I find the holiday so fascinating. I like the way people dress and paint their faces. I think it is beautiful to see a holiday where everyone is celebrating the passing of loved ones because we don’t celebrate that in American culture.
