She is a member of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.odu.edu\/psychology\/graduate\/health-psychology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Health Psychology<\/a>\u00a0concentration and affiliate for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.odu.edu\/psychology\/graduate\/clinicalpsycphd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Clinical Psychology<\/a>\u00a0concentration, teaching and mentoring students in both tracks. As director of the Alcohol ETOH Behaviors Lab, she examines strategies to enhance the reach, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness of alcohol interventions. She also explores alcohol harm reduction more broadly, including daily process examinations of drinking among young adults (e.g., contextual factors). She applies advanced statistical methods to address the complexities of health behavior data assessed longitudinally or intensively, using structural equation modeling, multilevel modeling, and multilevel structural equation modeling.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Braitman also has a passion for teaching statistics, with a strong emphasis on using advanced quantitative methods as they apply to substance use behaviors. She enjoys holding workshops and didactic sessions for concepts that sometimes fall through the cracks during traditional coursework (e.g., checking assumptions, cleaning data, etc.). She teaches courses in Longitudinal Data Analysis, Program Evaluation, Quantitative Methods, Research Methodology, and Health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Braitman also enjoys spending time with her family and visiting new places.
