Assignment 4

Going into this assignment, I was very curious about the best case scenario in this dilemma. I was glad that the simulation let me choose more than just stay silent and confess. The above data is from 30 rounds where Prisoner 1 is set to whatever scenario is in column one and Prisoner 2 is random always. I figured setting the second prisoner to random takes care of prisoner one not knowing what their partner will do. Best case scenario for prisoner one to have a lesser sentence is just to confess every time. In case they’re concerned with having even sentences, a tit for tat (meaning they copy the others’ last action) or a pavlovian (meaning they share whether they benefit or not from the last action) approach. Neither of these apply to the first instance, so to avoid a heavy sentence the first prisoner would have to just confess.
