Comparing my post, I got what I expected, and more awareness and inside of the foundation of various cultures. I’m glad I got to dive deeper into the “why” of the cultural * discussed within this class. My expectations didn’t waver too much, this course was very manageable and touched in-depth on what I wanted to learn. I feel aligned with the course objectives, and that I met each one that was outlined. If I were to take this course again, I would’ve liked to prioritize and organize completing my assignments in a timely manner. Considering this was an online course, I looked forward to watching the videos that went along with each module to enhance my understanding of the information each week. One skill I’ve gained from this course is expanding my knowledge of cultural perspectives, which is a skill needed when engaging with others- especially in an expanding and diverse workplace environment, social interactions, etc. I would say I am still in the fifth stage of intercultural insensitivity. I continue to look at situations from different perspectives and have a high standard of respect and understanding for individuals I may encounter from various walks of life and cultures.
This image represents how I felt throughout the course. Having these “eureka moments” allowed me to grow in my understanding and cultural competence throughout the course.

I demonstrate being independent by taking the initiative to complete anything on my plate, I am extremely impatient and refuse to wait for the help of others at times. The curiosity within myself has always been there, from a young age I was alway eager to explore and try something new. I make sure to extend offers to help others in whatever way I can contribute by being generous and sensible. I take others’ feelings into consideration, and actively view things into other perspectives through being empathetic. I would describe myself as nurturing and loving through the care and patience I have for others. I find joy in meeting new people and being a friendly face when I can, being adaptable has aided with this as well. I demonstrate the independent construal of self with numbers 1,2,4,7,8,and 10. I demonstrate the interdependent construal of self through numbers 3,5,6,&9. I personally think I am more independent however a lot of the qualities I listed about myself wouldn’t be possible without intervention from others. Proverbs I think of for interdependence would be “ It takes a village” and the proverb for independence would be “ stay true to yourself.” . It was easier for me to think of a proverb for interdependence because having a sense of community is ingrained in me.
This quote captures one aspect of my perspective on life that helps live a fulfilled life.

After taking this test, I was impressed with how accurate I feel into the personality summary description. My scores were the following: Average for N, High for E, average for o, very high for A, and very low for C. I would say I am an outgoing person who likes to stay within my means and this was evident from the findings of the test under Openness. The description that those who score average on this portion “ like a balance of the new and old” describes me perfectly. I love trying new things but I do enjoy staying in my comfort zone from time to time as well. My score for conscientiousness, very-low was nothing out of the ordinary, I’m often-told I am easy-going, and in doing some self-reflection there are times that I am completely careless, and think nothing matters ( In a good way of course). I agreed with my scoring for Extravison, I am a social butterfly and love interacting with others and new people. I Scored average for Neuroticism, and it was entertaining to me because the description that falls under this category is a topic that I have been thinking about myself for a while. Finally my score for Agreeableness was high, I usually never have issues with others and try to practice clear communication at all times if I can help it.

My personal experience with education has always been positive. My parents created the foundation that education is essential, and fortunately I was able to pursue higher education with the support my parents provided. Growing up, my teachers and peers continued to motivate me to continue on a successful path. Thankfully school was not much of a struggle for me growing up, which made the transition into higher education attainable.
During various periods of my life, my future career paths have changed, however no matter the career-path I chose, I want the values of the company or organization to align with a few life values I have. It’s important that I have a job that is impactful- anything that involves helping others or making a difference that contributes for the betterment of them or the organization I represent. Gaining experience throughout my previous jobs, talking to other students, and gaining knowledge from professors or previous teachers has allowed me to develop some of these values.

The course objectives outlined in this course will better enhance the quality of my future career and future relationships. Working and engaging with individuals in any industry today means more exposure to diversity and other cultures. With multiple cultures interacting with one another it is important to have an understanding as well as respect for everyone’s morals. Gaining insight on the behavior and experience of different individuals across their cultures can help me better understand and connect with peers/clients in the organization I work for. Exploring different cultural perspectives and principles is an expectation I have for this course because not every individual is the same. Each of the course objectives pinpoint the goals I want to achieve to develop into my future career and lifestyle to go against the typical US parameters of psychology and understanding how culture builds and impacts the foundations of those within the culture. I plan to implement better studying strategies, and incorporate time management to help with understanding the information and content of the course.
Etics
The image I chose represents the concept of etics. This principle is summarized as the outside cultural perspective across multiple cultures. I chose this image because it shows the examination of multiple cultures under an objective magnifying lens.
