AI’s influence on Digitail Crime Investigations
This article focuses on the Impact that artificial intelligence has on digital crime investigations.
The main points of this article and study are to Understand the different methods of artificial intelligence
that is used by law enforcement, To explore the legal implication of using AI in the analysis of electronic
devices and to study how far AI can go with its involvement in the digital crime Investigation world. To
study this researchers used the Normative juridical research method and the scientific research method.
This study found out that Ai is very useful to not only help solve digital crime investigations but also
prevent them(Faqir, 2023).
Victimization From Deepfakes In the Metaverse
This article is about a study done on the implications of deep fakes on society and its evolution in
the metaverse. The main focus of this study was to identify how deep fakes cause cybercrime
victimization in the metaverse. The researchers used interviews and also examined online sources and
examples of this victimization to research this topic. The people that the researchers chose to interview
were 8 metaverse experts from South Korea The researchers also mentioned and used Eysenck’s theory
of criminality in their research. The study concluded with the conclusion that with the rapid development
of this type of technology the threats to the metaverse and to the victimization of innocent users will be on
the rise and calls for more development in the enforcement of this type of crime.(Stavola & Choi, 2023)
Conclusion
In conclusion I chose both of these articles because they studied the future of cyber security and
where the field will in the coming years. What I took away form both of these articles is that with
the ever advancing technological development there will continue to be new threats and solutions
to the new types of crimes. However, be using this new technology it can help prevent or assit in
detecting these crimes.

Artificial Intelligence in Digital Crime Investigations
Principles of Social Sciences
Digital criminal investigations in the era of artificial intelligence relate to several social
sciences. The principles within social sciences that it relates to are criminology, psychology and
sociology. Sociology relates to this topic because of the impact on how social media and
technology has affected how people communicate and socialize now. Criminology is involved in
this topic because this topic main part is dealing with the effects of crimes involving technology.
Psychology relates to digital criminal investigation because of a new pathway for not only
helping solve criminal investigation which would help deter criminals because they weigh out the
likelihood of getting caught with how difficult the crime is to commit.
Research Process
This study had multiple different research questions that were answered
throughout the article. One of the research questions that was asked was “How are AI
methodologies employed in digital investigations related to cybercrimes? “ (Faqir, 2023) The
second and one of the most important research questions is “What are the potential
advancements and applications of AI in digital criminal investigations?” This is one of the most
important research questions because it directly relates to the main focus of this article. This
question also answers the main goal and the positive benefits of artificial intelligence. The
research method for the article was using their own data they had collected and got data from
secondary sources. The primary data they had collected was specialties opinions, the
secondary information were legal documents. Some relations this article and study have to
concepts we have seen in the powerpoints are the connection between sociology Psychology
and criminology have not only with each other but their effect on cybersecurity and cybercrimes.
Real World Applications
Some challenges and concerns that stem from this study and that this study
found were ethical and legal issues with using artificial intelligence in digital investigations. This
is because artificial intelligence could breach people’s privacy and violate data collection laws
and policies. This study’s overall contributions to society are very large.
Conclusion
This study’s overall contributions to society are very large. The reason why its
contribution is large is because artificial intelligence is the future of the world and its implantation
into the justice system could help solve and prevent a lot of digital crime. However, there are
currently ethical implications when using artificial intelligence in digital crime investigations.
