SCADA uses typically automated systems to help<br>manage these sites.<br>Critical Infrastructure<br>There are many risks associated with critical infrastructure because of its importance and<br>reliance on critical infrastructure. The first risk is physical attacks on the physical location. This<br>could be as simple as people vandalizing to people attempting to break in to install or destroy<br>property. The second risk is cyber security threats, Cyber security threats can completely shut<br>down critical infrastructure production and systems. This can happen from a physical attack that<br>installs malware to the system or malware sent to try to breach into the system.<br>SCADA in Critical Infrastructure<br>SCADA is used in critical infrastructure in all different aspects of being able to run. The first<br>aspect of its helping is it being able to monitor parameters in the infrastructure. This is important<br>because it can measure important information such as temperature and pressure and alert if<br>one is too high or too low. The SCADA system does this by using sensors and interpreting<br>them. Another way this helps is by allowing operators to access dangerous areas that are not<br>easily accessible with remote operation. The final and one of the most important reasons for<br>SCADA systems to be used in Critical infrastructure is for automation (SCADA Systems &#8211;<br>SCADA Systems, n.d.).<br>Conclusion<br>In conclusion, critical infrastructures are extremely important to everyday life. There have<br>been many instances in the past where something will happen to deactivate a critical<br>infrastructure and it has a great effect on thousands to millions of people.
