Assignment 1: This one was very easy, as I had worked with VM’s and Linux before. <\/p>\n\n\nannotated-CYSE270-LAB-1<\/a>\n

Assignment #2: This assignment was slightly tricky, as I hadn’t used some of the file commands before. It was hard to learn the suffixes, but I was able to accomplish it. Step 8<\/strong>: Correct command is ls s*<\/code> because it lists files starting with \u201cs\u201d. (\u22123 points)<\/em>
Note: the -d<\/code> option would only list directories, which is not what was asked here.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\nannotated-CYSE270-Assignment-2_compressed<\/a>\n

Assignment 3: This was very easy as I had used vi editor before. I learned some new commands, however, such as jumping to the very top of the page.<\/p>\n\n\nAssignment-3-Working-with-VI-Editor-1<\/a>\n

Assignment 4: Task B<\/strong> – Step 3:<\/strong> The correct command to show the group membership of the root user is groups root<\/code>, not id<\/code>. (-5 points<\/strong>)<\/p>\n\n\nannotated-CYSE2704<\/a>\n

Assignment 5: This one was fun! I enjoyed creating the users and learning how to use John the Ripper. Again, remembering all the suffixes for specific commands is difficult, but I managed.<\/p>\n\n\nannotated-CYSElab5-1<\/a>\n

Assignment 7: This is where it started to get a bit difficult. This was simple, but a lot of steps and took a while.<\/p>\n\n\nannotated-cyselab1026_compressed<\/a>\n

Assignment 8: This took a bit of patience and time as I had no prior coding experience. I was able to get the script running, however, as the instructions along with the in-class slideshow helped a lot.<\/p>\n\n\nannotated-Lab8cyse270<\/a>\n

Assignment 9: This one was hard. I had to really study the slideshow and do some research to figure out why my script wouldn’t work. I was eventually able to get it to work by adding sudo<\/em> to all of the lines, along with making sure the compression method was correct.<\/p>\n\n\ncyse270assignment91<\/a>\n

Assignment 10: This one took some thinking. I was able to use the “SubnetCalculator” tool to figure most of it out, as recommended by a colleague. Note: The maximum host calculations are incorrect.<\/p>\n\n\nannotated-Assignment-10-Networking-Basics-and-Subnetting<\/a>\n
