Interpretive, Interpersonal, and Presentational Modes of Communication
Reflection
Through the progression of the course I experienced many trails and error within the Spanish language. Nevertheless, I learned that through hard work and dedication the process of understanding a new language is all about your mindset going in as well as being open to the experience. I previously had some knowledge of the Spanish language because I took Spanish one, two, and three in high school; however I feel as though this course allowed me to refresh my understanding of the basic procedures. The teacher was very understanding when I did make mistakes and showed me how to improve my pronunciation of certain words. I truly enjoyed myself and can’t wait to further my knowledge of the Spanish language.

Exploring Culture
Some of the practices I used to help better comprehend the Spanish language was the videos within the preparation for the assignments,as well as the homework on LingroHub. Also the taking notes on the vocabulary for each chapter help me excel throughout the course. The hardest part was understand when and where to use certain verbs like “ser and estar” and what adjectives belong to each. However through repetitious actions it started to click and make the process a little easier. Staying on top of each section within LingroHub was very effective in making my experience less overwhelming.

Engaging in Communities
Engaging in your community allows for a better understanding of different cultural perspectives. In addition to this it opens the door to learn new things that you have might not have known otherwise.
Interpersonal Communication
This was a very interesting task in my opinion because I actually have had a situation where a customer at the store a work, GNC, did not speak English. Instead of using the translator app I decided to piece together what he was saying in order to help him find what he was looking for in the store. I believe the knowledge that I had gain from this course truly aided in me in that circumstance. Also one of my cousins who married into my family is from Bolivia, so she also practiced with me in Spanish because I wanted to learn more.
Presentational Speaking
I did participate in an activity involving speaking Spanish. This one involved a video where I had to tell of my favorite places on campus. I was challenged at first to get my thoughts together. It took many tries to get in right but at the end of the day I learned from my mistakes and pulled through.

Presentational Writing
Some of the most popular food in Spanish culture are listed as follows:
- Paella Valenciana.
- Patatas bravas
- Gazpacho
- Pimientos de Padron
- Fideuà
- Jamón
- Tortilla.
- Churros
Interpretive Listening
Interpretive Listening involves understanding what the other individual is trying to state. However having a proper response is always crucial to making sure their opinion is heard. Here is a clip from one of our group projects where we had to have conversation in Spanish. This was very enjoyable!

Interpretive Reading
One way to understand some else’s cultural is by observing the past of that specific heritage. Frida Kahlo was a very talented Mexican painter very revered in Latin cultural. She was known for her many portraits, self-portraits as well as works inspired a by nature and artifacts of Mexico.
