Workplace Aberration

In a number of ways cyber technology has opened doors for workplace deviance. Using company computers and internet access for personal purposes or participating in non-work related activities are some examples of how company resources are misused. This may lead to decreased productivity and improper use of company time. Cyberbullying and harassment are two more ways that technology has given rise to opportunities for workplace deviance. Because digital communication is so common people can bully or harass their coworkers online which makes the workplace hostile. And last workplace fraud and other types of data theft have been made easier by cyber technology. Sensitive company data can be accessed by hackers without authorization endangering not only the company’s security but also that of its clients and staff.
