I was 6 years old when I discovered my passion for computers. Growing up I was always interested in computers, even at this young age. I found joy in teaching my grandparents how to use the computers and their phones as well. In middle school I took keyboard classes for all 3 years and in doing that, my instructor taught me the basics of keyboarding. Taking these classes led me to the realization that I wanted to continue my education in IT. My high school offered a class called cybersecurity. I then decided to take this class all four years of high school. The class taught us things like basic coding and hacking. I feel like this was the best decision I’ve ever made taking it all four years because it quickly became very interesting. After knowing I wanted to commit to cybersecurity I decided to go to college and major in this subject. Cybersecurity is becoming exceptional in this generation and offers a lot of great opportunities for people who want to work in the field. I also enjoy picking up new skills. Understanding technology, knowing how to code, and even having detective abilities are all necessary to discover and catch cybercriminals. It’s intriguing to me because it’s like solving puzzles all day long. There are constantly new problems to solve, like determining how to prevent hackers and guarantee the security of anything on the internet. Since I actually enjoy this profession and am constantly eager to learn more, I’m very convinced that I can succeed in it. Following my passion and ensuring that the internet is a safer and better environment for everyone is more important to me than simply having a job. What makes it the most enjoyable is that by performing cybersecurity, I get to help protect people, corporations, and even whole countries from cyber attacks. It is almost satisfying to know that my efforts might contribute to everyone’s privacy and security.
