The major I’m pursuing is Nursing. Growing up with two younger siblings, I experienced being more than just the older figure in their life. Being the oldest meant, in a way, I was responsible for looking after them. My younger brother often got sick and growing up I looked after him. He was one of the earliest reasons that led me to choosing Nursing. Knowing and learning how to properly care for him created an interest in pediatrics for me. I currently do not have much experience in my major, but my goal as a first year is to find some programs that would allow me to gain some hands-on experience. To me, a career in the healthcare field allows lifelong learning, and I see it as a steppingstone to a variety of health professions.
