Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs provides a lens through which I may reflect on my experiences as a cybersecurity student in the field.
- Physiological needs: This includes having stable internet connectivity and working gear. My digital experience begins with the necessities. An internet connection and operational equipment. Without them, my ability to participate in cybersecurity education would be jeopardized.
- Safety: This includes using firewalls and antiviruses to defend my computer system. These technologies, which serve as guardians, shelter my gadgets and data from danger.
- Love: Online groups and cooperation platforms provide a sense of belonging. Connecting with students, my friends, colleagues, professionals, and mentors in cybersecurity organizations fills a desire for connection.
- Esteem: Acquiring cybersecurity qualifications instills a sense of accomplishment and acknowledgment, which fulfills the demand for respect in the learning environment.
- Self-actualization: Participating in hands-on projects and performing research allows me to push the boundaries of my cybersecurity knowledge.
