Professional Bio

My professional contact is a Student Academic Advisor at Old Dominion University. They earned a master’s degree in Sports Management and previously worked at ODU as a Graduate Assistant before becoming a full-time Graduate Assistant and continuing their career in student-athlete support. In their current role, they work closely with student-athletes to help them succeed academically, stay on track toward earning their degree, and prepare for life after sports. Their position is important because they play a key role in developing athletes both inside and outside of the classroom, ensuring they are supported in their academic and personal growth.

How connection was made

I began this connection in person. I chose this professional because I aspire to work with student-athletes in the future, although I am still exploring the exact path I want to take. Since this individual works directly with student-athletes and helps guide them toward academic and personal success, I felt they would be a valuable professional contact for this assignment. After explaining the purpose of the project and providing an overview of the semester requirements, they agreed to participate and shared their contact information. This interaction marked the beginning of a professional relationship that I hope to continue developing throughout the semester.
