The principles of science were coined by Robert Bierstadt, an American sociologist who believed that social sciences adhere to the same principles as the natural sciences. There are seven core beliefs that surround the principle of science, and they are Relativism, Objectivity, Parsimony, Skepticism, Ethical Neutrality and Determinism. After researching those six basic principles I concluded that they not only relate to cybersecurity but to most things in life. The one core belief that stood out to me was Ethical Neutrality. Ethical Neutrality is the practice of remaining impartial and without bias or judgment during research and in publishing results. An example pf Ethical Neutrality and how it relates to cybersecurity is integrity when a security analyst finds a vulnerability where bank records are not encrypted and available publicly. Instead of using this opportunity for their gain, the ethical point is to create awareness and fix the vulnerability.
