Utilizing the NICE Workforce Framework, I was able to identify what areas of cybersecurity I am aiming to work with. The top choices that I am interested in are to Protect and Defend. This part of cybersecurity allows you to work with the mindset of a hacker but using that in a way to defend your system. To be able to protect and defend your system, you will need to know network security, incident response and programming.
The second area of the NICE Framework that drew my attention was Analyzing, specifically threat analysis. Threat analysis is a mixture of technical skill and soft skill that I already possess. Working towards my bachelor’s has taught me how to research in depth and relay that through various essays and research papers.
