Maslow’s hierarchy of needs is a pyramid that breaks down human need and provides insights into human behavior, motivation, and personal development. The base level of the pyramid is phycological need, I have a good friend that I met on the internet. We’ve been talking for over a decade now; without the internet we never would have been friends since we live in different states. Friendship is a phycological need, especially for children. The second layer is safety needs, for my safety I need a job to be able to afford to buy food, and my job requires me to use a register that can handle financial payments. The third layer is love and belonging, during the covid years being able to face time different family members allowed me to feel connected and not alone. Layer four of the pyramid is respect, I feel respected when I am presentable, and I know what is going on in the world. There are many apps, Pinterest, Instagram and news outlets that help me stay current. Layer five, self-actualization is knowing one’s potential. Technology is helpful in that area of my life by allowing me to reach my potential through using technology to finish my education.
