To honor the rich history and cultural significance of black voices, Old Dominion’s F. Ludwig Diehn School of Music is celebrating with choral program. The concert, coordinated by Asia Daniels (an incredibly impressive freshman music student), is titled Black History Through Song and will be held on February 9th at Chandler Recital Hall. Ms. Daniels’ concert will be a vocal history lesson spanning multiple generations and styles.

Touching on such talents as Billie Holliday, Sam Cooke and Whitney Houston, the concert with take the audience from spirituals to pop. Featuring current students, faculty and alumni. With special consideration for ODU’s own talented composer Adolphus Hailstork.

Black History Through Song, will definitely be a high point in ODU’s celebration of Black History Month and I hope to see you there!
