Cyber Explorers

When I signed up for the class, I thought that Cyber Explorers would allow us to have lessons that are highly interactive and meet companies that have multiple occupations for people interested in cybersecurity. I also believed that we would be able to get more information on the cyber courses provided by Old Dominion University and talk about certain courses to take for certain cyber career paths. Although it is hard to find jobs for cybersecurity at career fairs, Cyber Explorers made it easier to find internships and other prospects for getting a job in the cybersecurity field. CyberOps gave me the chance to meet other companies and help me create a proper portfolio that would help me compete better with other applicants. Also, the companies there gave us tips on how to conduct ourselves during an interview. In class, we learned how to schedule courses for the Spring semester and which classes to take to advance to the next cyber classes. Although I attended cyber classes at the Chesapeake Career Center during High school, my teacher never went in-depth on the types of cybersecurity jobs such as penetration tester or security architect.
