Music
Throughout my life, music has played a prevalent role whether if it is for fun or school. People consider music as a universal language that connects us all. People have their likes and dislikes in music whether it is classical, pop, country, jazz, or rap music. Music brings about many positive connotations, and it serves as a stress reliever; if I face something or someone difficult, listening to my favorite song gets me through the day. It helps me concentrate on tasks such as homework or cleaning too. Since the fifth grade I have played the violin. With that chosen activity my knowledge of music expanded, and I was introduced to famous composers such as Bach, Beethoven, and Tchaikovsky. Listening and playing their music was a great experience because I had the chance to perform beautiful pieces. Sometimes when I performed the piece, I would have an image in my head and imagine what the composer felt when writing the piece. I would wonder if the composer was sad, happy, angry and bring that feeling into my performance. Music helps translate emotions that an artist, composer, or musician feels that an audience can relate to.
