Writing Reflection Two

I have been introduced to new concepts and techniques that I can use for several of my classes. The first few weeks was my transitional period, and I was just getting started in understanding the way class is structured. To be honest, I wish that our lessons were more interactive because it is hard to pay attention in a class that is longer than an hour when there are always interruptions. Most days, my classmates and I listen to a lecture about a number of writing techniques that have been helped me with my papers such as knowing when to put in commas or how to properly use parallel structure in my sentences. I feel better in my abilities when Mrs. Isenkul passes around a worksheet on specific writing skills and discusses it after the class and I are finished; I wish that every class session would implement classwork.
Another new technique that I learned that is incorporated into the syllabus is WordPress. I feel that it is a great way to show my professors, future writing professors, how I progress in my writing throughout the semester. I have never built a website as my ePortfolio, but it is great opportunity to showcase my writing. Although I struggled with building my own website, Mrs. Isenkul showed me how to edit and personalize it during my class sessions; if we wanted to add something extra to the website, she would recommend us to go to the library and ask for help. In order for my class and I to stay on track with the ePortfolio, she gave us the opportunity to write journals during our free time. She also provided examples on how to complete my editing checklist and how upload it to the website once it was finished. Learning to build an ePortfolio will be helpful in the future because I could use these skills on my resume.
