Windows Server 2008 introduced advancements like Hyper-V and Server Core. These brought options for virtualization and easier server management. Later versions built on these ideas by adding automation, better tools for managing systems, support for containers and connections to the cloud. Security became a priority too with improvements such as Shielded Virtual Machines, Secured-core servers, stronger encryption, and safer credential handling. Now Windows Server 2025 takes this forward with better security, more powerful virtualization, improved networking, and stronger hybrid-cloud features. This shows how Microsoft has shifted from supporting physical servers to helping businesses run secure, virtualized, and cloud-connected environments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Alyssa Carter Window Server 2008 \/ R2 Window Server 2012 \/ R2 Window Server 2016 Window Server 2019 Window Server 2022 Window Server 2025 Release Period Released in 2008, with R2 following in 2009.
