I was raised in a military community surrounded by a variety of people and cultures. That experience has truly morphed me into who I am. I learned to see someone for who they are, not just who others say they are.
I remember when I was younger, the first time I was exposed to prejudice and racism I was so confused because I had met the people they were talking about and it did not sound like the people I knew.
One of my primary goals in life is to help other people understand this concept. It is essential to who we are as a community, both locally and globally.
I hope to be able to use Spanish to do this. I hope to be able to share the stories of those who have been silenced. I hope to be able to change the world for good, even if it’s just a little bit.
