Article 5

The last article I choose is comparing France to the United States, I have been interested in France since i was in high school. I wanted to learn french so i could go there. I learned a lot about the differences between the US and France in reference to their power distance, or how they interact with people of royalty or government. Individualism or how they work with different people. Masculinity is if someone is successful, rich and has the means to get whatever they what or if the country cares more about living your life how you see fit and for yourself. Uncertainty avoidance or how likely they are to change their routines. Long-term versus short-term orientation can refer to how the culture handles delayed gratification. Lastly indulgence or how likely they are splurge on themselves. The picture I choose is the difference between the two countries.

Article 4

The fourth archive I choose is from Module 5. I choose this one because I had the opportunity to reevaluate how much my mom taught me versus how much my grandfather taught me. I never grew up with a dad and my granddad took it upon himself to teach me what a dad would have. My mom taught me a lot of value and we are very similar. I learned a bit about my values. my values have been on my mind since I got married. My husband and I have similar values but not the exact same. I also put something I valued. My friends and my education. I have to finish my degree before I can get to my dream job so I am taking my dues.

Artifact 3

My third favorite was a little hard to put in the middle because it’s very similar to artifact 2 but I felt I learned more with Artifact 2. I choose 5 separate situations that made me happy. I choose 3 socially engaged and 2 socially disengaged. My socially engaged include when my husband and I got married, when I graduated high school with some of my best friends, and when I  earned the rank Sgt in my Young Marine program and my grandfather gave me his ranks he worn in Vietnam. I choose all of these pictures because they represent the moment where I was the happiest on those days.

Artifact 2

My second favorite module was 13. I have spent a long time thinking about what makes me happy the last couple of months. With Covid causing a lot of changes in my life I had to figure out new ways to be happy in my situation. I moved to a new state right before Covid hit. I had moved to Augusta in December 2019, started a new job at the end of January of 2020. little less than 2 months Covid hit and everything shut down. Doing this assignment let me reevaluate what I had attempted to discover when Covid hit. I found a lot of new friends here despite Covid. I have learned a lot about making myself happy with what around me. I choose a picture my husband had made for our one year anniversary.

Artifact 1

My favorite module archive was mod 3. I loved discussing what it is like to be a military spouse. Everything is different after being married, you love the person you’re marrying and are exciting to start a new chapter of your life. I value my time as a military spouse, if Dylan was not in the military we would have never moved to Augusta and met some amazing people here. I have found some truer friends here than I did in Virginia. For my photo representative, I picked my dog, Clover! Clover was with me before I was able to start my military spouse chapter. I, unfortunately, had to let her stay with my mom and the dogs because we were not allowed to have pets in our apartment when we moved down. I learned to take a look at my life so far and see what I have learned and valued from it.
