Many issues arise when it comes to the storage of individuals personal information online, including the risk that is associated with the storage, the fact that it is not a guarantee that the information is safe, someone can take advantage of you, and lastly personal information should be locked in to a person only and not be distributed freely. There is a lot of risk when it comes to the storage of information online because a hacker has the possibility of infiltrating where it is stored and stealing a person’s information without the person being aware until it is too late. When storing information online in most cases the information will go to a website that asks for it that a person has given their trust to, however, it is possible for a person to stage being one of these trusted websites and asking for information and if a person is not careful then they would just be handing personal information to someone with malicious intent because of the habit of handing out information to online corporations so often. When giving up information to one of these places they will often assure you that your information will be safe with them which is a very misleading thing to say to someone because there is no way they can say for sure that your information will not fall victim to a cyber attack. Hackers are advancing faster than defense mechanisms and it is very unpredictable to say whether or not your information will be safe. Last but not least personal information should be locked in to a single person and that is it, it should not be required to give up information to a place where they cannot one-hundred percent guarantee the safety of that information. Information may only appear to be in one place but if one person gets ahold of that information it could be passed around from place to place distributing it all around the internet leaving it in the hands of people who mean harm.
