There is a large amount of relations between cybercrime and many other branches of careers but the most notable is criminal justice. Criminal justice is “the delivery of justice to those who have committed crimes” and this is a very important factor when it comes to dealing with the criminals that are convicted of committing cyber crimes. With this being said, it is worth noting that cybercrimes are a fairly new thing the criminal justice system has to deal with, most people stating that cyber crime didn’t exist until the 1980’s. Even though this may seem like a while ago it really isn’t when taking into account just how long it takes for laws to become effective. This means that there is not as much known about cybercrime as most other crimes, overall this entails that the criminal justice system and cybersecurity experts need to work together to come up with a way to ensure safety amongst people as well as come up with proper punishments for these individuals. It is also worth noting that it is significantly harder for people to catch cyber criminals than normal criminals because the perpetrator is able to hide behind a screen and cover his footsteps online. It is safe to say that without the criminal justice system working with cyber security experts the world could be facing a dangerous amount of criminals that commit these crimes behind the scenes of what is known to most people today. It is important that the interaction between the two continues due to the amount of technological advancements that are taking place every week. Adapting to these changes is difficult but it is crucial to the safety of the millions of people who are using computers each day. Overall I believe that the criminal justice system is an important part of cybercrime and should not go unrecognized when it comes to the world of cyber security.
