Remote Access Policy

BLUF: This document is an example outline for a Remote Access Policy for a large corporation. The AI tool Co-Pilot was used to develop the content for this exercise.

Remote Access Policy Disclaimer:

Remote access may not be provided to all employees. Remote work is an alternative means of meeting company objectives. The Company reserves the right to terminate the remote access privileges of an employee at any time.

Training Compliance:

All employees must complete annual Security Awareness training. Authorized remote-work employees will not be allowed to work outside of company offices if the required training is not up to date for that calendar year.

Acceptable Use:

All company-provided equipment up to and including computers, drives, wi-fi routers and cellular phones are to be used as directed for work-related purposes only. Use of company equipment for personal use is strictly prohibited.

Authentication and Access Control:

All user accounts must be accessed via multi-factor authentication. Employees are prohibited from sharing user counts and passwords with anyone else. Remote access employees will be provided with role-based access to limit all activity to the scope of work assigned.

Security Requirements:

All devices must be password protected. Employees must maintain up to date cybersecurity on all laptops. Contact the IT department to upload the appropriate anti-virus software prior to initial use. A secure virtual privacy network is required when working outside of the premises.

Lost Equipment:

All lost or stolen items must be immediately reported to IT. If the item was lost outside of office spaces, a police report may be required.

Violations:

Any employee found in violation of any of these policies will face disciplinary action up to and including termination.
